What is DYBO?

Defiance Youth Basketball Organization, a 501c3, non-profit organization, was created to provide better access and practice opportunities for 3rd-6th grade boys and girls in Defiance, OH.  

 

What is the purpose of DYBO?

The main concern of DYBO is increasing numbers and making basketball available to all students in Defiance.  Beyond access and practice opportunities, DYBO was formed to better coordinate the youth levels of Defiance basketball.  All registration, teams, practice scheduling, leagues, tournaments and uniforms will be handled by DYBO.  

 

What students are eligible for DYBO?

Defiance City Schools students, Defiance parochial students and Defiance City home-schooled students.

 

How much is registration?

$100

 

What will registration go toward?

Registration for DYBO includes:

  • Automatic placement on a Defiance team
  • Guaranteed practice times at Defiance YMCA and Defiance Elementary
  • Use of DYBO basketballs - set for every grade boys & girls
  • Uniform
  • Tournaments
  • Opportunity to play at halftime of a Defiance boys or girls game
  • Admittance to boys or girls clinics at Defiance YMCA or Defiance HS

 

Why should we join DYBO?

Both the boys coach and girls coach are board members of Defiance Youth Basketball Organization.  DYBO coaches will have access to high school practices as well as coordinated meetings to align expectations and standards for every grade level.  High school terminology, drills and concepts will be demonstrated to better prepare our Defiance student-athletes for the future.
